River closure is a key project of water conservancy construction, due to the complexityof the closure process, the river closure engineering results directly affect the investmentbenefit and time limit for the whole project. longkou hydraulic conditions is the main factorthat decide the success of river closure, so before construction, we should take advantage ofphysical model or mathematical simulation to research longkou section type in advance, arrange preventive measures advance for the problems that may occur, based on this, thearticle was mainly discussed from the following aspects:First of all, mainly from hydraulic description of the vertical wall closure process, definition of longkou submerged flow and the flood flow, the determination of longkou axissection water depth, longkou hydraulic parameters change rule and drop size determine fiveaspects to discuss mechanical problems of the vertical wall closure. Then From improving discharge capacity of the diversion structures, double dike riverclosure allocating height of water, enhancing wash-resistant stability of the closure block, wide closure dike reducing closure difficulty, preventing levee collapse to improve theclosure safety and so on to explore ways to reduce the river closure difficulty and itscharacteristics and conditions of application. Finally, take using wide closure dike to lower river closure difficulty as an example, useANSYS CFX for mathematical simulation, varying the closure dike-top widths to analysis thechange of flow and flow velocity of longkou, pressure distributions and other hydraulicfactors affecting, study on the closure dike width effect. Simulation results show that underthe condition of the same Inlet flow rate, outlet flow and upstream water level, if Longkou topwidth remains the same and adds closure dike-top width, Longkou flow, flow rate andnegative pressure will decrease, but after a certain amount, closure dike-top width continue toincrease, the trend of decrease is more and more slow, finally, remains almost the same.
