Now, automatic production line has been widely applied in manufacturing industries such as mechanical processing, food, automobile, electron, etc. With a series of advantages such as high efficiency, low cost, high stability, product quality, short production cycle, production balance and so on.automatic production line creates a significant economic benefit and good social benefits for the enterprises. However, compared with a single device failure, the fault of the automatic production line equipment has the characteristics such as sudden, randomness, complexity and so on, high maintenance costs have become a heavy burden and directly affect the economic benefits of enterprises. Therefore the research on production line equipment maintenance management theory and method has important practical significance.With the analysis of the existing domestic and foreign maintenance theory and the maintenance strategy, this research analyzes the existing problem of X company production line equipment maintenance management, proposes the improvement schemes of X company production line maintenance management. In addition, the optimization model of automatic production line equipment maintenance decision is established to determine the best time of equipment maintenance on order to achieve the goal of reducing maintenance cost and outage loss by using the modeling method of time delay.Firstly, this paper gives the research background of automatic production line equipment maintenance, summarized and analyzed the research status in the domestic and overseas indicated the research purpose and meaning of the study, summarized the content and methods of the study and give the technical route of the paper research.Secondly, the automatic production line equipment maintenance and fault characteristics are analyzed and the concept and the development of time delay maintenance theory are also introduced in this research, which provide the theoretical foundation for the buildups of automatic production line equipment maintenance management strategies and maintenance decision optimization model.Then, the production line maintenance of X company is introduced and analyzed in detail. Aiming to the existing problem of X company production line equipment maintenance management, some improvements are done and the automatic production line equipment maintenance management strategy are put forward for the X company. In the end, applying the time delay maintenance modeling method, the optimization decision model of the automatic production line equipment maintenance time is established for X company and the computer simulation is carried. At the same time the validity of model is also tested. Last this model is used to get the best maintenance time to the automatic production line equipment for X company.
