Groundwater seepage is an important factor to the stability of oundation pit. In practice, it is no wonder that foundation pit accidents appen because of no full consideration of groundwater seepage on the mpact of foundation pit. There is not well-developed theory about how eepage effect the foundation pit, neither the reliable test methods to etermine pore water pressure in seepage field. Numerical simulation is effective way to study groundwater seepage by using the finite element oftware. About calculation of earth pressure of foundation pit, there re limits when the method of estimating water and earth pressures ogether or separately is taken, which ignores coupling between soil and ater.In this paper, based on a foundation pit of Kunming, use the seepage heory to do the numerical simulation by Geo-studio and ABAQUS. Compare alculation results between the situation with consideration of seepage ffect and the situation regardless of seepage effect, analyze the nfluence of seepage which forces on foundation pit. The research can be ummarized as follows:(1)Study the influence on groundwater seepage field when water-esisting curtain exists in foundation pit by using the SEEP/W, one odule of Geo-studio, controlling variables method is been taken.(2)Two-dimensional model of foundation pit is established. Simulate eepage field of foundation pit when in process of staged excavation. ompare the deformation law of foundation pit and characteristic of etaining structures between the situation with consideration of seepage ffect and the situation regardless of seepage effect.(3) Research distribution law of excess pore water pressure of foundation pit and the curve between dissipation of excess pore water pressure and coefficient of permeability of soil. Study the influence on steady of foundation pit when pore water pressure dissipates.(4)By compare the difference between monitoring data and simulation results of foundation pit,prove whether it is reasonable, the situation with consideration of seepage effect and the situation regardless of seepage effect, simulation results of foundation pit in the situation with consideration of seepage effect is more reasonable. It is hoped that the research can do some help to the design and construction of foundation pit.
