Fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) with its excellent performances has been widely used inthe fields of structure retrofitting. This paper systematically studies seismic design method andtechnology of RC frame structure retrofitted by FRP from three levels: the integral structure, thejoints, and the members.Firstly, according to seismic damage characteristics and structural properties, the seismicdesign flow of RC frame structure retrofitted by FRP was proposed. From the bearing capacityretrofitting of local members, to the seismic capacity coordinating of joints, then to the seismiccapacity checking of the integral structure, seismic retrofitting effect of the integral structure wasensured step by step from many aspects, such as strength, stiffness, ductility and energy dissipa-tion capability, etc.Secondly, the seismic capability of structure was improved at member level. The calcula-tion method for the normal section of flexural members retrofitted by FRP was put forward toavoid the failure of low reinforcements. Based on the summary and complement to the currentdesign method for the normal section of flexural members retrofitted by FRP, the design flowabout it was put forward. The checking formula and checking flow of bearing capacity underdifferent failure modes were also proposed. Many seismic structural measures for the normalsection and inclined section of flexural members retrofitted by FRP were brought forward. Theformula to calculate flexural bearing capacity of the normal section of the concrete column un-der eccentric compression retrofitted by FRP simultaneously considering the method of bothlateral sticking and vertical sticking were put forward, which avoid the solution for equationwith a higher dimension. The design flow about the normal section of the concrete column un-der eccentric compression retrofitted by FRP was put forward. On the basis of considering therequirement of bearing capacity and ductility, seismic design method and design flow of framecolumns retrofitted by FRP were proposed.Finally, bearing capacity of members was coordinated by the joints, and the seismic capa-bility of the integral structure was improved. The bearing capacity adjusting coefficients of eachsection of frame structure members in different seismic levels were supplemented, and thestructural bearing capacity checking based on joints was completed. The formula for calculatingthe shear capacity about the joint core zone and the seismic design flow about the joints of RC frame retrofitted by FRP were put forward.
