With the increasing length of highways the development of tourism, the safety,landscape, cultural environment construction of tourist highway, becomes more andmore important.Landscape assessment of highway is the standard to assess the degree of theinfluence which highway program brings to the environment. The result reveals therelationship of social activities of nearby residents and Eco-system, and can be usedas the reference of the set up of environment protection measures and improve ofhighway landscape. On the other hand, it can also act as one of the standards of thetourist highway level evaluation, and become the basement of the tourist highwaysystem, or scenic byway system.This paper has defined the tourist highway, and summarized its developmentboth in China and abroad. It also has studied the theory of entropy, and stated theapplications of entropy and entropy weight method in landscape assessments.The common assessing method of highway landscape includes landscape beautyassessment and landscape comprehensive assessment. The comprehensive assessmentis a total assessment of ecology, aesthetics, culture, and so on. Through the analysis oflandscape comprehensive assessment methods, this paper compared both advantagesand disadvantages of analytic hierarchy process, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation,grey correlation evaluation, and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation based on analytichierarchy process. The result shows the common disadvantage of these four methodsis the unavoidable subjectivity.In order to minimize the subjectivity, entropy weight method is used to weightthe importance of indicators in tourist highway landscape assessment. Firstly, thefactors of tourist highway landscape are classified, and the assessment indicatorsystem based on that and the model of entropy weight method are built. Secondly, setup a questionnaire to survey the importance of every factor, and calculate the entropyweights. The factor with smaller entropy is a factor with bigger entropy weight, whichmeans that it has larger amount of information and higher importance in theassessment. The result shows that the indicators of eco-environment are more important than highway design, and the less important ones are those of culturallandscape.According to the grading of highway landscape proposed by former researchers,this paper set up a comprehensive grading model to grade the tourist highway basedon the score in comprehensive grading model.Finally, the landscape design of Dongjiao to Longlou tourist highway in HainanProvince is taken as an example. Based on the entropy weight and score of eachindicators and the landscape comprehensive model of tourist highway, thecomprehensive score and landscape of it is calculated.
