Condensate pump is an important auxiliary engine in power plant, but it has the problems of high energy consumption and poor flow regulation. The condensate pump is driven by high voltage motor, so speed control for motor is the key to solve the problem. This paper analyzes6kV high voltage motor variable frequency speed control system.This paper analyzes the actual operating conditions and speed control requirements in condensate pump.Then several high voltage inverter topology is compared, and cell-cascaded inverter is chosen for system design. Moreover, main circuit is designed, and in order to improve the stability of the system, power unit quickly bypass technology is researched. The speed control system adopts the vector control strategy, and flux observer, speed identification for speed sensor less system is designed. In view of high voltage inverter is built by power unit series, carrier phase-shifted SPWM technology is designed for its control. Then simulation in the MATLAB environment validates the feasibility of the control strategy. Next hardware and software design of control system is completed. The hardware design is to build a general control framework, and to select the model of DSP, FPGA and PLC. In addition, several important circuits are designed. The software design is to complete the design of DSP main program and subroutines, as well as the design of carrier phase shifted SPWM generation procedure of FPGA. Finally, combining with the measured data of high voltage inverter in field operation, the energy saving effect and advantages of variable frequency speed control system for condensate pump is researched.In summary, the application of variable frequency speed control system for condensate pump, not only can greatly save electricity, and can effectively improve the speed performance of high voltage motor. So for the economic and utility perspective, this system has extension value.
