Mechanical seal technology is one of the most important techniques for modernfluid rotating machinery development, with the requirements of modern industry forsealing performance continues to improve, the previous general mechanical seal hasbeen unable to meet the needs of the work. In order to adapt to the high temperatureand high pressure, high speed and other parameters and under the complicatedconditions can keep good sealing performance, surface modeling technology hasbecome a new breakthrough, namely through the creation of various seal face chute toimprove the performance of mechanical seals, thus better meet the sealingrequirements. The spiral groove mechanical seal is one of the most popular, the bestperformance of sealing groove, analysis and research of this paper is based on thespiral groove mechanical seal. The present most popular, the best sealing method isthe seal of spiral groove mechanical seal, the paper is also based on the spiral groovemechanical seals perform analysis and research.Firstly, this paper constructs a3D model of fluid film lubrication between thespiral groove mechanical seal ring, meshed discrete, set the appropriate initialconditions and boundary conditions, using computational fluid dynamics (CFD)calculation principle, using laminar model and the SIMPLEC pressure basedalgorithm in the solver, two order upwind scheme for the spatial discretization method,and then solving the three-dimensional N-S equations and the continuity equation offluid domain, to get the total pressure of fluid lubrication film distribution, theopening pressure distribution, pressure distribution, leakage of the outlet, openingforce, to analyze the distribution law and its effect on the fluid sealing. Then changering speed, pressure of the sealed medium, medium dynamic viscosity and otherparameters, obtain these parameters on the total pressure of the fluid, dynamicpressure, static pressure, leakage, opening force will produce what variation. Finally,change the number of slots spiral groove, helix angle, groove depth, groove than the dam, weir trough zone width ratio, respectively, to study the influence of theseparameters on the sealing performance.
