As reform and opening up go farther, more and more china companies have to faceup more intense competition. Unlike in the past, the life cecle of both products ofindustry and articles for daily use are become shorter, in recent years, more and morenew technology are used. In addition to, lots of new kind of products can be found andmost of them are personalized and diversified. So that, the companies who want to standout form others, must produce the products which can respond to the customers needsand the evolution of the products, quickly.70%cost of a product is decided by itsdesign proposal. So, the product cost and the product development timing alwaysbecome more than original plan because of the change of customer requirements,function requirements and assembly constrain. So, the research to design change is veryimportant for reducing product cost and the product development timing.Parts of a product connect to each other because of the impact relational which comefrom assemble and information change. A whole product structure network is found bythe connect relationships. In the product structure network, the point will lead to otherschange when it changed, and the changed points will bring out more changes because ofthe impact between points. As each point is stand for one product part in the network,more product parts will be changed because of the original change. The mainlycompleted analysis and results are as follows:(1) On the basis of checking and reading extensive related literature combined withsurveying and studying, the research status of the vibration characteristics and staticanalysis regarding change reasons, change kinds and change affects.(2) Change risk analyse method was introduced based on the analysis of productchanges. And, the maximum path of design change propagation is got by the pointchange probability and the impact between points.(3) The maximum impact path is obtained by the Floyd algorithm which is used tocompute the maximum impact between points. But, the Floyd algorithm used to compute the path is very slow in the product design field, so the flash algorithm isintroduced to reduce the shortcoming.(4) A kind of product estimate cost model which is made up of materials cost andprocessing cost and path change propagation index (PCPI) are introduced. The bestchange propagation path is chose by the cost model and the PCPI form three changepropagation path which got by change risk analysis method, Floyd algorithm and flashalgorithm. Finally, The practical example of hydraulic cylinder design has verified thevalidity and the effectiveness of the methods.
