With the development of science and technology and the prosperity of economic,social demands are changing accordingly, numbers of high-rise buildings have sprungup in cities, use of the high-rise building is also developed from single tocomprehensive multi-purpose. A new structure-high-level joint building-is thendeveloped,Which combines the two towers together as a whole through the middleconnect body, giving a different kind of visual impact, the connect body is not onlyfacilitate to contact the twin towers, but also is helpful to daylighting. But because ofthe existence of connection body, the high-rise building structure stress becomes verycomplex, the conjoined settings change the structure dynamic characteristic of the twosingle building itself, under the action of seismic loads, connect body makes the twoindependent towers influence and interact with each other, the conjoined structurereaction to earthquake is much more complicated than the monomer structure.Compared with the single structure, conjoined structure will be much more strongcoupling vibration and torsional increase. Although application of the twin towersconjoined structure is more in modern architecture, but the current study of thisspecial structure is relatively little.The research object of this article is zhengzhou international project-superhigh-rise office buildings, which is symmetrical conjoined high-rise building andbelongs to complex tall building according to the “technical specification for concretestructures of tall building”. In this paper, the key problems of the design are discussed,corresponding construction measures are adopt from the perspective of the conceptdesign, some design ideas are put forward to the structure of the twin towers,conjoined twin towers, main body and conjoined structure effective connectionmethods and basis of special part, structural measures are put forward to response tooverrun the design. According to the design results, structure elastic is being analyzedand calculated by using SATWE and MIDAS, in small earthquake response spectrumanalysis, considering the construction simulation and P-delta effects, horizontaland vertical seismic action were calculated, thus the overall structure force anddisplacement were obtained. Through the analysis of the calculation results, findingthat the measures which are put forward to response the design difficulties andoverrun situation based on the project in this article are reasonable, the performances of the structure meet regulatory requirements. The paper’s research results has acertain reference significance on the future research and design for twin towersstructure building especially for the twin towers conjoined structure.
