Abstract:The control of multi-cylinder synchronization driving system has always been an hot topic in industry. The following is the disadvantages of current studies:1. Reliability has been overlooked due to the overmuch emphasis on high precision synchronization;2. Much efforts has been put on the study of high precision synchronization of one-direction, while those on bi-direction are rare;3. No significant improvements have been made over the performance of synchronization control, since it depends highly on the performance of hydraulic elements. Aming at the shortage of the present studies, starting from the perspective of its bi-direction synchronization and reliability, combing the modern control strategy, research was done on the multi-cylinder synchronization in this paper. The main contents are as follows:1.A review on the application and research status of multi-cylinder synchronization was given, mainly focused on its development, the topic source and the significance of study.2.In order to solve the existing problem of traditional hydraulic synchronization circuit, an new strategy of two-level and bi-direction hydraulic synchronization control was proposed; Characteristics of the main hydraulic components in the system were analyzed and the system reliability was calculated; the hydraulic synchronization test-bed and its monitor and control system were designed.3.Main factors affecting the synchronization movement of multi-cylinder were analyzed, research of the synchronization control methods of multi-cylinder was done, and a effective synchronization control method was proposed; Simulation of dynamic performances of the multi-cylinder synchronization system under different working conditions was done in AMESim, which testified the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed control strategy.4.To guarantee the synchronization performance of the multi-cylinder synchronization system under different control structures and parameters, the mathematical model of the multi-cylinder synchronization control system was established and a synchronization controller of sliding mode variable structure was designed; Joint simulation of the system was done with AMESim and Simulink, whose results showed the control arithmetic has high controlling accuracy and strong robustness.5.Multi-cylinder synchronization experiments were done in a test platform of the multi-cylinder synchronization system and the results revealed that the designed system and its control strategy were effective.
