ABSTRACT:Road widening technology is an important measure to cope with the rapid increase of traffic volume, but the different settlement between the widen and old embankments are effected by such factors such as properties of the widen and the old part、construction technology and construction time, the different settlement often happens in the joint of the old and new embankments. Based on the widening project of Nanmao road, the paper summarizes the monitoring data of the settlement of ground surface and lateral displacement and the finite element method is applied to the analysis of the project. The treatment measures is determined for the differential subsidence between the old and widening embankments. In this paper, the main work can be given as follows:1. The main technical problems in the widening project, such as widening engineering common disease classification, mechanism of roadbed disease and the calculation method of settlement deformation between the widen and the old roadbed are studied.2. Considering the three-dimensional consolidation theory of foundation and the nonlinear constitutive relation of soil mass, the technology of "element birth and death" is used to obtain the initial stress and the construction process is simulated in a whole process.3The impact effected by the embankment widening width、widening way、geological conditions and terrain conditions and other factors on the uncoordinated deformation of the old and new embankments is analysed. Combining the spot investigation and laboratory test result, the general characteristics of the uncoordinated deformation of the old and new embankments are revealed.4. Roadbed widening engineering deformation characteristics is studied, and based on the field test of Nanmao road, relationship between lateral displacement of foundation and settlement along the depth is obtained in the whole process of subgrade filling. The result is used to guide the project construction.
