Power plant operation optimization involves a number of areas, the most difficultyis to determine the optimal target value. The rough set theory does not require priorknowledge in addition to the dataset, will be able to extract knowledge from a largenumber of incomplete data. Rough set theory is used in the power plant optimal targetvalue determination, using Microsoft Visual C++6.0to design the program andalgorithm, visualization technology is introduced to implement human-computerinteraction.This paper focuses on the following questions:1. In-depth analysis of plant data selection, data pre-processing and datadiscretization. To use division and partition entropy to determine the discrete number ofclassification categories, to solve the problem of fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm cannot determine the number of classification categories.2. Proposed new method of rough set attribute reduction algorithm applied to theplant data. A rough set incremental algorithm is applied to update association rules, tosave the costs of time and space.3. Design the process of optimal target value determination. And use the MicrosoftVisual C++6.0to design the program and algorithm.4. The visualization technology used in the optimal target value determinationprocess in order to achieve human-computer interaction. Regular polygon is applied torepresent the plant data association rules, allowing users to observe and understand themining results more intuitive.5. Power plant historical operating data as an example, to determine the optimaltarget value. Compared the optimal target value and design value, and determined thecurve of optimal target value. The analysis shows that the optimal target value will helpimprove the economy of the unit.
