As an important part of overhead high-voltage transmission lines, the transmission tower is a typically flexible high-rise structure, and is also an important lifeline engineering structure. Under the effect of strong wind, the accidents that transmission towers collapsed and damaged occurred frequently and caused serious losses. Therefore, in this paper, a cat-head-shaped transmission tower is taken as the research object. Using the research method based on probability reliability, the wind disaster vulnerability of the transmission tower is analyzed. The main contents include:(1) The finite element analysis model of the transmission tower is established and divided into several parts along the height. The AR linear filtering method is used to simulate the fluctuating wind time-series of transmission tower under different wind speed.(2) Considering the uncertainties of material properties and geometric parameters, the nonlinear dynamic time-history analysis of each random sample is proceeded using the Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS) to generate random wind speed-structure samples. The regression analysis of result data is performed to establish the relationship between wind speed and structural response.(3) Using Monte Carlo simulation method and nonlinear buckling analysis method, the wind resistant probability analysis of transmission tower is proceeded. The damage state of structure is defined. The threshold values of structure in different damage states are obtained. The data is statistically analyzed to get two statistical parameters of structural bearing capacity distribution function:mean value and const logarithmic standard deviation.(4) Based on the results of random dynamic time-history analysis and wind resistant probability analysis, by calculating, the wind disaster vulnerability curves are drawn out when the transmission tower is in various damage states.
