With the development of society, the population concentrates to the central citycontinuously, traffic problems, environmental problems emerge unceasingly, jumping out ofthe shackles of original old city in order to construct and develop new town has become thenew direction of city development. The construction and development of transportationbetween new town and central city is an effective approach to optimize the regional spatialstructure of big cities and realize the regional economic, social and environmental coordinateddevelopment.This paper starts with the exploration of transportation mode between new townand central city, analyses the transit network optimization design between new town andcenter city.the pecific contents include:(1)From the economic and transport links,it analyzes the relationhip between new townand center city,discusses typical traffic patterns transportation mode and its characteristics andapplication scope,then summarizs and studies the selection factors of transport mode.(2)Starting from traffic demand between new town and center city, the composition ofpassenger flow and its time and spatial distribution characteristics as well as objectivedevelopment law have been analyzed.Then, typical transport structure between citie is alsoinvestigated.On the basis of traveler’s demand, the traffic between cities is deeply analyzedby introducing the prospect theory,the optimal model for transport modes between new townand center city is established and being illustrated by an example.(3)Based on traditional transit network design method, this paper studies the transitnetwork characteristics and elements, combines with the specific features between new townand center city,the tansit network design goals are promoted, transit network optimizationbilevel formulation model is also built.In the upper level, the bus operating cost andpassenger travel cost are minimized, in the lower level,the performance of users isdetermined,a simulated annealing algorithm is applied to solve the problem.(4)In view of the bilevel formulation model, the genetic algorithm is designed andsolution process is also given.then combined with the specific case to verify the feasibilityand rationality of the model, the results show that the proposed model is reasonable and hasreference value for transit network design between new town and center city.
