Cable-stayed bridge with its excellent spanning capability and economic and otheraesthetic features, has been widely adopted in engineering. With the length of span and theheight of tower increases, the stability of the cable-stayed bridge is much more prominent.Taking into account China is an earthquake-prone country, the seismic response analysis ofcable-stayed bridge that play a important role in the transport hinge can accumulatemeaningful conclusions for the seismic design.A spatial finite element method model was established to analysis the structural stabilityand the seismic response of the the cable-stayed bridge with single tower and cable plane.Various factors affecting stability analysis were fully considered by using the finite elementsoftware MIDAS. The main contents are as follows:1.First analyzing the global stability of the bridge is studied with the considerations ofpile-soil interaction and cable sag. Various factors affecting stability analysis were considered.Buckling stability analysis under different combinations of the action which including staticwind loads and lane loading in bridge completion state was carried out.2.Then the dynamic characteristics of the bridge is studied. The pile-soil interaction aretaken into account. The influence of the interaction on the dynamic responses is analyzed.3.Introducing the seismic response analysis method, and analyzing several horizontaltwo-dimensional orthogonal ground motions to identify the most unfavorable direction thatcause a stronger response of the bridge.4.Introducing the dynamic time history analysis method, and analyzing the seismicresponse, The earthquake action E1and earthquake action E2are taken into account in theanalysis. The results of time history analysis and the seismic response spectrum analysiswhich under earthquake action E1.
