Terrestrial laser scanning technology which is widely used in the highway measure, bridges, tunnels deformation monitoring, measuring and many other areas of ancientarchitecture, mechanical design, mining, is accompanied by reverse engineering evolved.and has made certain achievements, but it is rarely used in the field of railway engineering, especially in the state of the existing rail line monitoring and maintenance of the application isalmost close to empty, so it is a great significance for the application of research methods andaccuracy analysis of laser scanning technology to existing track condition monitoring. This article first is based on laser scanning technology to determine the track surveyingmethods, It is include the main choice of laser scanners, target type and layout and choose thedistance from the scan interval determined from the analysis and comparison of the scanningprogram to identify suitable rail line laser scanning program, and a section of the gan-quanrailway as a example, the scanning process study to determine the program, line of pointcloud data acquisition. After laser scanning the railway line, it is required the scanning pointcloud data segment railway subsequent data processing. And it is different other forms, therailway line is the ribbon structure, when it scans it is required segmentation for scanning anddata extraction rail, so it is targeted research for the rail point cloud data processing methodrequires. First, the point cloud data obtain splicingly to form a point cloud data collection onthe railway line, and it can reflect and restore the true state of the railway, and make the datato roam; Secondly, the point cloud data processing contain point cloud data filtering, segmentation, in accordance with the track geometry factors which cantain gauge, trackdirection, height; Finally, for the extraction of track geometry data, Gauge according to therequirements of the extracted data were analyzed, and the analysis of its accuracy. This paper uses a laser scan of Surphaser25HSX to panoramic sweep the railway line, and then use Cyclone, Geomagic Studio and Geomagic qualify software together toprocessing the point cloud data. Because these softwares have different characteristics, it isindispensableiy to use these together and learn each other.During the course of processing thepoint cloud data, it is different from the point cloud data of Railway and common industrialprocessing method. The point cloud data processing method rail normally used for eachsplicing site cloud little cloud data processing, data filtering, multi-station alignment, feature extraction and data partitioning, data processing, industrial design simplification anddifferent than other treatment methods used vary. Data processing can be obtained through thepoint cloud data detection software analysis to determine the validity of the method andproduces a color represents the deviation deviation renderings. By getting the track pointcloud data, the median track geometry, including gauge track, rail and other data to the highand low; through the track bed split point cloud data,we can extracte the thickness of thetrack bed and so on.This paper has important practical significance, unlike the previous single-pointmeasurement method to measure the railway, this method make the railway to havecontinuously digitized data. so that the railway point cloud data are closer to the true state ofthe railway, which according to the aim of the people to get the geometry data extracted fromorbit, railway track bed values. For future it is used for railway track condition monitoring, maintenance of railway lines, railway lines to provide a new digital measurement method. Itis can be verification in the design of railway and railway construct, Future on it is can beused in the track condition monitoring and maintenance to verification the feasibility of thismethod.
