| Fabricated plate girder bridges in the field of small and medium span bridges werecommonly used in China. But the damage of hinge joints was the main problem of suchbridges. Some bridge detections showed, damaged hinge joints will reduce the overallmechanical properties of fabricated plate girder bridges. In severe cases, single beambearing will be appeared after hinge joints damage, which can cause bridge safetyaccidents. In this paper, the damage of hinge joints in fabricated plate girder bridges wasresearched. The main contents are as follows.Firstly, based on the new and old concrete bonding mechanism, with the mechanicsand failure characteristics of hinge joints, the “traction-separation†curve of bondingbehavior between surface and surface in Abaqus contact module was researched.Moreover, combined with relevant research literatures, surface bonding slip stiffness,bond stress limits, and final slip value of “traction-separation†curve were cleared. Thenestablish a finite element model of a real bridge to analysis, and comparison with thebridge load test. Results show, they are in good agreement, so the finite element modelin the paper was correct.Secondly, in order to research the hinge joints bearing capacity influence of theconstruction measures on the bonding surface, five groups of hinge joints shearspecimen with different contact surface structural measures were produced. Theexperimental results showed that add of shear reinforcement can improve the limitbearing capacity of hinge joints, but it decreases the bond-slip stiffness of the contactsurface. While the shear steel plate with smaller steel ratio increases the bond-slipstiffness of the contact surface. Moreover the normal bond stress of the hinge jointscontact surface is smaller than the theoretical values, and the method of adding contactsurface construction measures can both improve the normal and tangential contact bondstress limitation.Finally, according to the test results, combination with steel shear keys and shearreinforcement in contact surface of hinge joints were further puts forward. Makenumerical analysis and comparison of this structure form common form of hinge jointsand no hinge joints in the form of a whole cast of plate girder to find the differences oftransverse stiffness and bearing capacity. The results show that combination with steelshear keys and shear reinforcement in contact surface of hinge joints, can greatlyincrease the transverse stiffness of plate beam, so as to the hinge joints bearing capacity. |
