Increasing the quantity of urban vegetation coverage, improving green roofs, and better urban ecological environment change is imminent.Located in north China, Taiyuan, with hot and rainy summer, cold and dry winter, temperate monsoon climate, whose high-rise and intensive buildings quick construction, the feasible green space of whom is becoming less and less, which makes green roofs become the focus of attention. Taiyuan local conditions suitable for the implementation of the green roof development of its underground garage, it is an important strategic significance by developing the underground garage and green roof of Taiyuan as well as combing its local situation for the sustainable development of eco-cities and urban construction.It is an important complement to the ecosystem components like city parks, streets and other urban green gardens, which make people enjoy the on the health and lives of returning to nature. But it is closer to people’s living and working space such as underground garage green roofs and green roof planting, which are different from the urban landscape. In this paper, Taiyuan "Lakeview Heights’ residential underground garage green roof, as the case study, by combining theory of green roof, we discussed the planning and design, technology, methods, construction and planting of residential underground garage. Consequently, it can provide reference and help for underground green roof.Based on the analysis of the domestic and foreign research and the status quo of the construction of roof garden city, this paper studied the feasibility of what kinds of green roof could be developed in Taiyuan and did research on planting condition and selection of tree species.
