With the wide application of advanced technology in the smart grid, as well asIEC61970standard provides a range of standards and norms for the integration ofsmart grid information. They resolved the problems of information sharing withinpower heterogeneous systems, and many practical difficulties which powerenterprise exchange process in smart grid information,and they are also convenientthird-party applications into the grid platform.The traditional architecture of GIS (Geographic Information System)applications based on C/S (Client/Server) which will highlight the inherentdeficiencies along with the grid scale expanding: The system requires a lot ofmanpower and resources for system installation and maintenance. It upgrade is notuniform in versions and functions. Therefore, a new generation of GIS applicationsbased on B/S (Browser/Server) architecture approach WebGIS (Web GeographicInformation System) which it’s more and more attention to the power sector.This article first contrast with several common WebGIS platforms in theoperating environment, service support, programming environment, safety angle,etc., and it give a suitable WebGIS visualization platform under smart grid. Itintroduces each of IEC61970reference model, Common Information Model CIMand CIS component interface,so that the data format conforms to the IEC61970standard. Secondly, this paper designs a grading scheme of grid line and an interfaceof grid device into GIS information to solve the problem a lot of information mutualinterference in WebGIS scaled environment. Once again, to deal with the displayresult is not good in WebGIS map zooming when using traditional visualizationmethods of area load density, this paper designed a visualization methods of areaload density based on heatmap which combined heatmap principles and an improveddensity generation algorithm. Finally, to deal with the problem of the node voltagevisualization methods in traditional desktop GIS application cannot well support inWebGIS, it improve the inverse distance weight (IDW) interpolation algorithm, andextend the GeoServer which is open-source based map server, and the design of thecontour image cache based caching mechanism, so that to solve the visualizationmethods of node voltage in the WebGIS platform and increase the request speed ofcontour voltage. In this paper we proved that the visualization method is viable based on the experimental verification.
