This project of the specialized research is an applied research in view of the transmission line’s ice detection which is funded by the Scientific and Technological Key Project in Shanxi Province "Capacitance inducted transmission lines ice thickness sensor and its system"(NO:20110321026-02).Professor Qin Jianmin and his team which work in Institute of measurement and control technology,Taiyuan university of technology,proposed that air, ice and water have different physical properties.And they have realized the detection of the water and the ice which is at Heilongjiang and the Yellow River according to the different resistance and capacitance characteristic.This topic from the basic principle, according to the air, ice and water’s different dielectric property,the author designed a set of transmission lines ice detection device.From the chip selection to many modules of the circuit design and the program’s writing are aimed at improving the whole system’s reliability and stability as far as possible.This topic mainly completed the following several aspects: Firstly,the author read a large number of literature of science and technology in China and abroad.the author knows the research area of transmission lines ice detection.Their advantages and disadvantages are discussed and compared.Then,the author proposes a set of transmission lines ice detection system which is based on air, ice and water’s different dielectric property.Secondly,the different dielectric property of air, ice and water is analyzed.The sensor’s structure is designed and the sensor is analyzed by simulation and calculated theoretically.These are the theoretical foundation of transmission lines ice detection system.Then,the author designs the transmission lines ice thickness sensor and its system.The system includes:the control unit and other module circuits,the main program and each procedure,data acquisition part and sensor structure,GPRS/Iridium pass through module data transmission module,the PC’s software receiving the data.Finally, low temperature freezing experiment is made in laboratory.The data are analyzed,showing that the sensor is feasible in some conditions.
