Currently it is difficult to meet the increasing requirements of power supplyreliability of users with live working in distribution network. In recent years, thistechnology is booming and could quickly handle all kinds of defects, greatlyimproving the power supply reliability. The method transfers the load current withon and off of the bypass equipments, so as to realize the replacement or repair ofequipments, during which the bypass cable system plays a important role. However,because of the design structure, there are many safety problems caused the electricfield around a serious distortion, so the security and reliability of the cable terminaland connector is the decisive factor during bypass live work.In the past, the design of bypass cable terminals and joints are mostly throughcalculation combined with experience to design the shape of the axial length andcurves of the stress cone, so only can draw some key parts of the control values andfor adjusting the external structure of the stress cone to adjust the internal electricfield distribution of work is almost impossible. Based on these, through the finiteelement analysis method and combining with related software, we can easlilydesign and analyse the stress cone of intermediate joint structure.Through the related experimental platform of Liaoning Power Co., LTD., thispaper firstly in-depth study models of bypass cable terminals and then through thesimulation analysis to study the stress cone existence and its factors, such as thelength and the end curvature, then with such corresponding results,\the optimizedmodel of the terminal is drew; Secondly the internal insulation structure os the jointis discussed, and then verify the physical performance of corresponding bypasscable joints;Thirdly, conceptual framework and requirements and procedure as wellas others of bypass work are briefly summarized and analysed. Finally, application of bypass cable terminal and joints were showed during the work conducted bycertain subordinate unit of State Grid Liaoning Electric Power co. LTD.
