Along with electric power system developing at very fast speed, the voltage level isincreasing very fast in our country. The DC transmission system developed rapidly for its somany advantages. Especially for HVDC transmission, it has been developed so fast for thelarge capacity and long distance power transmission characteristic. For HVDC transmissionsystem, one of the most important equipment is smoothing reactor. The research-subject ofSmoothing Reactor which has been one of the focuses of the transformer manufacturingindustry in domestic and foreign, never has a Comprehensive discourse analysis inmanufacturing industry.In this paper,Dry-type smoothing reactor is considered as the research object,and itsrole of HVDC system,advantages and basic structure will be provided,Relying on ChinaSouthern Power Grid’s Xiluodu Right Station–Guangdong double Line500kV DCTransmission Project,and its technical protocol, we will do further study on the principalparameter.To ensure the result’s accuracy and correctness,we will check designing scheme inmany way.Meanwhile,we will prepare data for modeling,and build model by CAM,then we willdo research on electric field, magnetic field and temperature field,find out distributioncharacteristics and distribution rule. Next step, to ensure correct calculation method, providethe calculation basis for smoothing reactor product design, we will verify the calculationmethod by one product of±500kV DC Dry-type Smoothing Reactor.
