Steel plate shear wall with slits is a new type of Steel plate shear wall. The whole plateis divided into a series of cylindrical panels by the slits. The cylindrical panels work likeflexural columns,so the shear deformation of a wall is turned into the bending deformation, which will improve the ductility and energy dissipation capacity. The opening slits can bealso flexibly adjusted wall stiffness to ensure interstory deformation. The traditional steel structure buildings depend on the plastic deformation of beamsand columns to consume earthquake energy in the earthquake, which would generateresidual deformation and be difficult to be repaired after the earthquake. The residualdeformation of buildings have been measured the structural performance and importancefactors to be considered in seismic design. However, the new building structure withself-centering capability can effectively solve this problem. The hysteretic curve of thetypical self-centering structural is a double flag shaped under cyclic load, when the load inthe system is zero, the structure displacement is also zero, which makes clear that the self-centering structural system has self-centering capability without residual deformation afterthe earthquake.Finite element software ANSYS simulated the self-centering system with steel plateshear wall with slits(SC-SPWS).The effects of the initial value of pretension、the areasof steel strand、the steel plate shear wall thickness、the peripheral size width of steel plate, the slotted cylindrical section width and height、slits rows on the structure for the lateralstiffness、bearing capacity、self-centering ability and energy dissipation capacity wereanalysed.Analysis results show that: Through the reasonable parameters design, the steelplate with slits sustain inelastic deformations for energy dissipation, while the columns andbeams remain elastic. After the earthquake, the structure can quickly restore only byreplacing the steel plate. At the same time,Seismic performance of the structure canremain unchanged....
