The layered composite foundation is often seen in engineering. With the rapiddevelopment of railway construction, special foundation of high fill embankment and specialarea appeared. At present domestic and international research for ordinary laminatedcomposite foundation settlement is relatively more, but for high embankment foundationshould be relatively less research on larger additional force of layered composite foundation.The stress in the high fill road base foundation superstructure, foundation subgrade slope ishigher, the settlement of subgrade influence is bigger, the types of foundation has realisticmeaning settlement. At present, the layered settlement of composite foundation is the mostcommonly used method is combined with the experiment by theory or by empirical formulato predict the settlement. Composite foundation method through experiment and computersimulation on clay, mudstone and coal rock consisting of larger in high embankmentfoundation added shall complete the construction of foundation under the action of force totrain operation foundation settlement deformation study.This paper first particularity of high embankment and layered composite foundation isintroduced in this paper, the engineering properties and the present research situation oflayered soil, clay, shale and coal layers of foundation are discussed.
