Steel ball is the based component in mechanical industry, and its surface qualitydirectly affects the performance and life of equipment, so the steel ball surface defectdetection is the key process in steel ball and bearing manufacturing industry. Due tothe restriction of detection cost, however, except some high quality steel ball, thecurrent domestic steel ball surface defect detection still use the artificial visualinspection method which is low in detection precision and efficiency. Theautomation degree is low, which limits the development of steel ball and bearingindustry. One of the main causes of the restriction is the serious wear of drive surface,so using effective means to improve the wear resistance, will largely reduce thedetection cost and improve the efficiency and accuracy. Combining with the bionictribology research results, this paper based on the drive surface as the research object,by the optimization of texture and drive surface wear life prediction, provides a neweffective method of improve the friction and wear performance, the research hasimportant theoretical value and practical significance.Firstly, on the basis of the structure of spherical surface defect detectioninstitutions, from the angles of kinematics and force analysis the friction drivefeatures, and the friction stress characteristics has been determined. According to thedrive surface mechanical characteristics, combining the wear principle, analyzes thefriction types and wear reason of drive surface, and puts forward a method toimprove drive surface friction and wear performance, which add the optimizationtexture to driving surface in order to reduce the drive surface contact load, improvethe surface wear resistance and friction coefficient.Secondly, aiming four different loads, the friction and wear orthogonal test and optimization parameters test put the texture parameter attribute as factor, on the basisof multiple linear regressions, analysis the influence of the different texture factors tofriction and wear performance, on this basis realize the optimization of drive surfacetexture.Moreover, based on Archard model, combing with the drive surface dynamiccharacteristics and texture factors influence law, the wear model of drive surface isestablished. The wear life numerical simulation of texturing drive surface is based onthe wear model, texture parameter model and wear life model, which provides a setof comprehensive method of drive surface wear life prediction.
