With the rapid development of economy and modern science in china,more andmore tall buildings and long-span bridges have been built. At the same time, manyinfrastructures become aging and damaged. The security, durability and normal usefunction of important project have increasingly been concerned. So, it has become animportant area of research for the assessment of structural damage and healthmonitoring. Based on this background, the paper briefly introduces the researchsituation of structural damage identification and focuses on the method of damageidentification based on the static measurement data. The main research content of thispaper is as follows:1. The method of damage identification of random beam structures based onstatic measurement data is introduced and the definition of model error andmeasurement noise about girder structure is developed by means of the probabilityconcept. Random control equation of damage index is established, and then solved bymeans of combining static condensation and perturbation method. After the solutionof random control equation obtained, the statistical characteristics of each element’sdamage index about random structure can also be obtained, and then the probabilityof element’s damage can be assessed.2. On the basis of above static damage identification, an improved and newdamage identification method for random structures based on static measurement datais presented. This method locates the undamaged elements on the basis ofprobabilistic analysis of the static identification results, which then are adjusted andsubstituted into the static control equations to re-identify structural damage. Thenumerical examples of simply supported beam and continuous beam show that themethod proposed can identify damage of random beam structures effectively.Moreover, It can lower the risk of misjudgments, and improve the accuracy of staticdamage identification.3. On the basis of improved static damage identification damage of randombeam, the influence of real model error on the result of damage identification is explored. The numerical examples show the stiffness variation of an actual structurecan cover its real damage, which may bring down identification accuracy of themethod proposed.
