Nowadays, automobile plays an important role in our daily life. But with theincrease of car ownership, the environmental and energy problems caused by theautomobile increasingly prominent, It is important to note that when a car runningwithout passenger, the traditional air conditioning system caused great waste ofenergy, The common automobile air conditioning system power consumptionbetween1kW to5kW, As is known to all, in the hot summer, if open air conditioning,the vehicle dynamic performance decline significantly. Thinking solutions to ensurethe driver comfort and save energy have extremely high value, thus, the concept ofzone air conditioning system arises. In this paper, we study a kind of air conditioningsystem which cooling the cockpit only, and meet the local thermal comfort of thedriver. The study of vehicle zone air conditioning in the world today is not yet in fullswing, only a few big car companies such as the General Motors and Delphi did someresearch about it, and there have not been substantive outcomes.At present, for the research of human body thermal comfort in the car, thecommonly used methods include thermal comfort experiment and computersimulation. Because thermal comfort experiment is expensive, at the same time, withthe continuous development of computer technology, computational fluid dynamicsmethod are widely used in the field of car flow field analysis. In this paper, the zoneair conditioning research applied the CFD technology, this paper expounds theprinciple of CFD technique and basic knowledge of numerical calculation of interiorflow field.This paper proposed the concept of zone air conditioning system, expounded thezone air conditioning control principle and switching method between the traditionaland zone air conditioning, this paper put forward the concept of local air conditioning,elaborated the local air conditioning control principle and switching method and thetraditional air conditioning, established the model of flow field inside the motoraccording to the real vehicle1:1ratio, and joined the relatively accurate human bodymodel, set up two sets of car air conditioning system, namely the zone airconditioning system and traditional air conditioning system, based on the orthogonal experiment method, disparity of the type of air supply inlet and the wind parameters,finished numerical calculation in flow field of zone air conditioning and traditional airconditioning mode, obtained the velocity field and temperature field distributionaround the driver. On the basis of equivalent temperatureTe q, evaluated the thermalcomfort of two kinds working condition respectively, it is concluded that the zone airconditioning has good cooling effect, selected the two air supply parametersrespectively when driver has the same thermal comfort under two kinds of airconditioning mode, by these parameters, calculated the refrigerating capacity of twoair conditioning systems needs respectively, compared with traditional airconditioning, zone air conditioning refrigerating capacity required is far less, namelythe zone air conditioning have obvious energy saving effect.
