| Piston rings-liner system is the crucial friction pair of engine, the conditions it runsis very bad, the thermal load and the mechanical load inside is very serious and thelubrication condition in cylinder is also very poor. During the process of engine pistonreciprocating motion, rings and the liner wear to failure easily. So we should analyze thelaw of friction and wear by the numerical calculation and the wear test from themechanism, which is necessary to promote the efficiency of the engine, to improve thelubrication condition of piston ring-liner system and to reduce internal friction losses inthe cylinder. In this paper, the internal friction wear research has been developed mainly aroundpiston rings-liner system in the engine cylinder. In this paper, a PG125motorcycleengine piston-cylinder system was studied. First, a piston-cylinder system analysismodel was established, some parameters were calculated and analyzed such as the oilfilm thickness, friction force and friction heat by the AVL-Excite Piston&Ringssoftware. Basing on the above analysis, a study of the influence of different ring designparameters on the cylinder of internal friction and wear has been carried out. Finally aengine wear test was conducted, further understanding the rules of the wear by the test. The result shows that when the first ring is barrel faced, the oil film is thick and thefrication is relatively low. For the whole cycle process, bigger barrel height makes forreducing engine frication and engine consumption, so as to improving efficiency. On thepremise of supporting piston stably, to narrow down elasticity of the first ring and thesecond ring is helpful for increasing oil film thickness and reducing frication. The endgap clearance of the first ring, playing a role of sealing, mainly affects the air leakage ofthe engine. However, the end gap clearance of the second ring does little to oil filmthickness of piston ring, frication forces, nor frication losses, but pressure between thefirst ring and the second ring. |
