Piston ring-cylider liner is the most important and critical friction pair of internal-combustion engine, the working environment is very harsh. It’s tribological property and wear characteristic will affect the life of internal-combusion engine, work stability, work reliability and work economy directly, so it’s necessary to research the friction pair, but the most important way is to use friction and wear test machine.This paper designs a double-joint cylinder liner-piston ring wear and friction test machine.The test machine adopts a compound loading device to simulate the actual loading characteristic of internal-combustion engine.It uses double-joint and the cylinder liner-piston ring is adopted as integral, so it provides a new measure for wear and friction experiment.The test machie uses the diesel engine of Sanata2000car as foundation, the engine provide the help of driving and guiding. It uses two springs to simulate the varied load of internal-combustion engine.The two butterfly disk fixup the piston ring and turn the axial force into radial.The force sensor and meter can measure the axial force on the piston ring. The heater is setting out of the cylinder liner, the temperature can be stabilizing and showing on the T series sensor. At last, we check up the performance of the machine according to the data of experiment.According to the friction and wear experiment of the test machine,we can see that the performance of the machine is reliable, it also has two innovative points which is low price and double-joint, so we can use the machine to do wear and friction experiment.
