Due to turbo lag response, bus with diesel engine generally makes the black smokeincrease in start acceleration condition. In this paper, electronic control air injection system wasdesigned and developed for bus start acceleration condition; air injection system’s electroniccontrol device was mainly studied, including design, development and test of electronic controldevice. The main contents and results of the research are as follows:(1) According to the structural characteristics of the test vehicle and air injection workrequirements, the system of air inject in both side of turbo inlet was designed and built. Themethod of determine the start acceleration condition and air injection control strategy wasdesigned.(2) Test vehicle’s SAE J1939CAN communication protocol was analyzed, the acceleratorpedal position signal, engine speed and vehicle speed signal in CAN message were resolved, the way to get signals for determine start acceleration condition was provided.(3) Electronic control device hardware was designed and developed, including chipSTM32F103VET6minimum system control module, CAN communication module, the outputcontrol module, and other auxiliary modules.(4) Electronic control device software program was developed, based on the C languageand Keil MDK development software, timer and CAN communication initialization function, interrupt service function and solenoid valve control functions were designed by using libraryfunctions programming method.(5) Real vehicle air injection electronic control device test was designed and carried out.Including road test and bench test, bench test system was designed. Air injection success ratetest and air injection effect test were carried out.Test results show that: air injection system can be successfully controlled by the electroniccontrol device at start acceleration condition; Air injection able to make up turbo lag responsedeficiencies, exhaust soot emissions was reduced.
