High strength concrete has high strength, high modulus of deformation, gooddurability and impermeability. High strength steel has high strength. Using the highstrength reinforced concrete in the high-rise building can significantly improve thebearing capacity of the structure. It also can reduce the size of cross section, thequantity of steel and the weight of the structure. Consequently, seismic action of thestructure and project cost were reduced, construction materials were saved. Shear wallbecomes an indispensable part of the high-rise building because of its good seismicperformance and large lateral stiffness. However, high strength reinforced concretewas studied mainly in the study on the components such as beam, column, node athome and abroad. Research on high strength reinforced concrete coupled shear wallwas littler. So study on the seismic performance of the high strength reinforcedconcrete shear wall has great significance. On the basis of the present research status as well as the project background, thispaper adopts nonlinear finite analysis and gets the following results:(1) Appropriate stress-strain curves of reinforcement and concrete, failure criteriaand parameters of model were chose. Finite element analysis software ABAQUS wasused to set up the model of high strength reinforced concrete coupled shear wall toanalyze the damage mode, bearing and deformation capacity of the wall.(2) Comparing the results of finite element analysis with test results, they are ingood agreement. Errors of all key points of stress, displacement and ductilitycoefficient were small. The damage mode of the wall is also consistent with that of thetest wall.(3) Influences of concrete strength, axial compression ratio, shear span ratio ofcoupling beam and steel bar strength on the seismic behavior of high strengthreinforced concrete coupled shear wall were studied. At the same time, somesuggestions were made on the high strength reinforced concrete coupled shear wall inthe actual engineering application.
