Altash Reservoir is the water conservancy hub project for controlling the Thelower reaches of the Yarkant River Mountain. On the premise of guarantee to thetarim river ecological water supply, giving priority to flood control, irrigation, givingconsideration to power generation. Reservoir storage quantity of suspended sedimentaveraged over many years is29.93million ton, storage quantity of bedload sedimentaveraged over many years is3.85million ton, annual sediment runoff is86.06, thereservoir sediment problem is very serious.Combining with alta reservoir, the physical model test was established, Thehorizontal and vertical scales of the model are1:500and1:100respectively. Themodel suspended sediment gradation is designed in accordance with similarity ofsettling velocity, and checked with similarity of lift up velocity; The model bed-loadsediment gradation is designed in accordance with similarity of pick up velocity. In view of the two kinds of operation regulation, the reservoir sediment depositionevolution process, amount of sedimentation and sediment concentration of thegenerating set machine are studied, analysis summarized impact of operationregulation on sediment of the reservoir. Through the comparison and analysis, thereservoir for the future of the operation and management of sediment dispatchingoperation schemes are proposed. As to the operation regulation2among the two kindsof operation regulations, it maintained a low water level in100years, and the sanddeposited in the front of the dam with a delta form, there was no sediment depositionat the end of the reservoir and the amont of the deposition was relatively small. Thisoperation regulation was the recommended scheme for this article.
