Offshore deepwater breakwaters withstand complex and harsh hydrogeologyconditions. Soft soil is the most common type of offshore deepwater breakwaterfoundations, whose strength and deformation can hardly satisfy the requirements ofpractical engineering, and needs some reinforcement. According to the research result,currently there are enough monitor cases for suitable environmental conditions, butfew for harsh environmental conditions; in addition, monitoring automation brooks nodelay.To solve the above problems, based on literature investigation and personalexperience, the author summarizes the core technology of the monitoring systemunder offshore deepwater soft soil conditions, including monitoring project,monitoring purpose, the principles of emplacing monitor spots, the main properties ofthe instruments in common usage, the working principle of the instruments, theemplacing processes and points for attention of the installation, measurementtechnology, precision analysis, etc.; the author introduces the application of themonitoring automation system to offshore deepwater soft soil monitoring, as well asthe emphasis and difficulty of underwater monitoring automation—equipmentsprotection, compares the advantages and disadvantages of the monitoring automationsystem with the traditional techniques, and describes the control standard of theoffshore deepwater soft soil monitoring.In the thesis, three engineering cases are employed to illustrate the importance ofappropriate monitoring system, complete monitoring content, accurate instrumentemplacement and precise monitoring data to the control of the construction progressand the security and stability of the foundation; in these cases, the selected monitoringprogram, the machining and emplacing of the monitoring equipments, the dataacquisition and analysis methods by the monitoring automation system can provide aneffective reference for similar projects; practice has proved that the monitoringautomation system, consisting of automatic monitoring and wireless transmissionsystem, has a quite comprehensive application and promotion prospects.
