As the fast speed of city construction and increase of population, the cause ofheat supply should be enhanced with higher requirements. On one hand, the ratio ofthe use of clean coal should be raised actively, and clean coal-fired district heatingshould be developed to improve heating efficiency. On the other hand, heatingsecurity improved performance and implementation of the measures is aprerequisite for the construction of the new cities and a harmonious society. Therefore, building a multi-heat source heating system and avoiding causingsignificant heating accident due to the failure of a single heat source are the keyissues in the design of the heating system networking. In this article, a central heating system half-built in a certain place is the studyobject and the article relies on this project. Firstly, we analyzed the heat load of theheating system and the heat source, heating network and the status quo of thethermal station configuration and planning, and aiming at the features of the project,we proposed to use connected pipe to connect two single heat source branchedheating system in this area which are independent and distant from each other inorder to allow the newly built heat source to supply heat to the two districts andachieve mutual backup of the two heat sources after the completion of them.According to basic principles of hydraulic calculation of heating pipe networkcombined with multiple heat sources and networking theory, we suggested threesuitable networking programs of the heating system for this project, and designednet routing and diameters of new pipelines by hydraulic calculations under accidentconditions, recent heating mode and other conditions. On the basis of the results ofhydraulic calculations, we analyzed the influence of the heating system to thehydraulic conditions of the current heating area under the condition of a single heatsource’s taking multi-zone heating.Referring to reliability theory and reliability requirements in our heating pipenetwork design specifications, we studied the standby pump configuration principles, and analyzed operation strategies of the system under different accidentconditions in detail. Finally, we worked out the investments of the three programs, and gave theorder of relative merits of the three options from the point of view of investmentand reliability by comprehensive analysis of investments, reliability and recentheating hydraulic conditions of the three programs, which provided theoretical basisof guiding the selection of the project’s final plan.
