Since the top drive drilling device came out, it were continually improved, and widelyused in the land and ocean drilling equipment. Top drive drilling device can directly rotatedrill pipe drilling and achieve the thrible-drilling through the upper space of the derrick mast.It will save drilling time by20%~40%.On the other hand, the top drive can also trip out theback reaming by rotating while looping, which can effectively prevent sticking accidents andreduce the risk of exploration, to improve the safety of operation. It shows high performancein the operating of well, especially in the kind of superior difficulty well, such as deep well,horizontal well, underbalance well and high angle deviated well. But the speed of drive motorof most traditional top drive is so high that need the reduction gear to decelerating andincreasing twist. Furthermore, the existence of retarding mechanism leads to lower efficiency,and will lead to the failure of lubrication and seal at the same time.This paper took the3000meters direct-drive top drive as the design goal, aimed atdesigning a permanent magnet synchronous motor with high torque at low speed to satisfy therequirement of3000meters straight drive top drive. With my analysis, the structure of powerswivel and table type magnetic circuit structure were determined, and the rated parameters ofthe direct-drive motor were calculated. On the basis of the analysis of permanent magnetmotor, I completed the project design of the magnet part of the direct-drive motor, determinedthe parameters of the main dimensions, stator laminations, winding and the permanent magnet,etc. With the finite element analysis of the designed project of electromagnet, I had the relatedperformance parameters and the performance curve of the direct-drive motor. The question ofthe cogging torque was high should be answered by weakening through Taguchi method todetermine the final designOn the basis of completing the project design of the motor, I did the structural design according to the needs of top drive’s operating condition to determine the overall structure ofthe motor. Then I completed the detailed design of the machine, and build three-dimensionalmodel of the direct-drive motor by using the Solidworks. The finite element analysis wascarried out on the main shaft and rotor, by using the ANSYS, to ensure the rationality of thedesign.
