Coal-fired grate boilers are widely used. However, many problems stillexist in the process of actual operation. To study how to make the boilersoperational optimization has become an important way for the country toease the energy crisis. This paper uses the research results of the team andcompiles operational optimization from three aspects including combustionoptimization, pollution control and slag reduction. To factors affecting bedcombustion, effect mechanism and combustion optimization methods weresummarized. NOx precipitation characteristics were analyzed under typicalconditions and different combustion conditions. Methods of low NOxcombustion were summarized. For boilers combustion start smoke, theproblem was analyzed and the mechanism of control was put forward.Combined with numerical simulation result of boilers slagging, the paperanalyzed the slagging under two kinds of conditions of air distribution,finding the slagging position related to the way of air distribution. Then themorphology and element analysis of ash was applied and the fly ash carboncontent was tested, showing slagging is closely related to the combustioncondition and coal quality characteristic. In view of the previous researchreduce slagging related measures were put forward. Based on the real furnacedebug methods, introduces boilers operational optimization theory andmethods under the basic conditions, load changing and special circumstances,summarizing suitable method for guiding the operation optimization of realfurnace debug. Compared with real furnace debug results, the boileroperational optimization method is effective. Finally using3ds Max coal-fired grate boilers were3D modeling, combining temperature fields ofcombustion numerical simulation under two kinds of air distributionconditions, realizing the combustion flame temperature field directly withcorresponding, achieving the unity of the database and graphics library andalso laying the foundation of further research for boiler combustionvisualization.
