The penetration and armor protection has always been an important issue by the militaryscientists and weapon designers, but a lot of researches about penetration still belong to thestationary target. In fact, such as the ships, incoming missiles or military aircrafts, the tanksare not stationary target, they are often moving in low-speed or high-speed, namely that theprocess of the projectile penetration target is completed with moving targets, so that theballistic limit, projectile gesture, residual velocity and target damage characteristics aresignificant difference corresponding stationarytarget. Onthe background ofthis demand, theresearch on projectile partial penetration and perforation into moving target is conducted.Based on the cavity-expansion theory, the projectile penetrate lateral moving target isestablished. According to the loading and unloading theory of metallic material, the reboundforce acting on projectile and resist shear destruction capability of target material in grooveare calculated, and the criterion ofpartialpenetration is concluded. Meanwhile, the projectilepenetration stationary target and the lateral moving target are analyzed, the equivalentrelationship has been built between the projectile oblique penetrate lateral moving target andprojectile with attack angle oblique penetrate stationary target by converting mechanicalmodels.Based on the analysis about aircraft carrier kinematics and the important use of QLammunition function, it is analyzed that projectile with an annular groove structurepenetration lateral moving target by numerical methods. And the key point about this thesisis the effect on partial penetration such as target velocity, projectile velocity, target thicknessand groove structure. The rule of typical projectile QL lateral moving target is obtained.LS-DYNA, a finite element analysis software, is used to simulate ogive projectileperforation lateral target. The effect, that the influence of target lateral impact, projectilevelocity and the speed ratio between projectile and target on projectile gesture and residualvelocity, is studied. The residual velocity, angle deflection and acceleration changes havebeen discussed for reasonability of the projectile oblique penetrate lateral moving target andprojectile with attack angle oblique penetrate stationary target.
