Scholars at home and abroad did some research about calculation method ofdeformation capacity of shear wall components. The general idea of these methods isthat firstly the height of compression region of shear wall, or the relative height ofcompression zone is calculated according to the force balance equation,then thesectional curvature of shear wall components is calculated by using the geometricrelationship or regression method. And finally the shear wall edge member stirrupcharacteristic values as needed and restrained edge member length is calculated.Deformation performance indexs calculated by these methods are simple and under thelimit state, the shear wall components in other states (such as cracking, yielding)calculation method of deformation indexes are not explicitly proposed. While China’scurrent specification requests different deformation ability for different performancelevels in the structure design. So researching the deformation capacity of shear wallsunder the different performance levels has important theoretical significance andpractical value.In this paper, according to the existing theoretical research results and theexperimental datum, the calculation model of bending deformation for the shear wallcomponents is proposed based on a series of basic assumptions. Specific calculationformulas are proposed based on equilibrium conditions, the geometric relationship, andmaterial constitutive relationship. Calculation steps are determined. Deformation valuesof two groups of a total of12shear wall specimens are calculated by using this model.And the calculated results and the experimental datum are compared,the calculatedresults agree well with the experimental values,verifying the effectiveness of thismodel. The existing two parameter Park damage model is improved to make it moreconvenient for application in engineering design based on the analysis of the calculationprocess of the existing concrete structure damage degree assessment model. The processof solving the hysteretic energy damage is simplified by linear processing of therestoring force model. The damage indexes of shear wall are proposed in the basic intact,slight damage, moderate damage, severe damage, collapse of different state based onstatistics of the experimental data.Combining shear wall deformation capacitycalculation method and shear wall components damage degree evaluation method, a10story frame shear wall structure is analyzed by using the finite element softwareABAQUS to carry out finite element analysis. In order to calculate the damage indexesof the shear wall structure under the EL-Centro wave, Taft wave, Tianjin waverespectively corresponding to the seismic frequent intensity, the seismic fortificationintensity and the seismic seldom intensity for7degree seismic region separately.Macroevaluation is made based on those values, the calculation results and the requirementsfor seismic design of structures in China seismic codes are compared. Comparisonresults in line with expectations.
