Since the height of the modern architectural is ever increasing, the foundation pitbecame bigger and deeper. Because urban space is reduced gradually and thefoundation pit excavation environment is extremely complex, more and more questionsare proposed for the design and the construction of the foundation pit. The selectionand optimization of the pit supporting scheme is the key points of the excavationengineering design. In this work, the engineering design and construction offoundation pit supporting structure was studied based on practical engineeringexperiences. Therefore, it will be some practical value for real processing.In the thesis, the development status of the foundation pit engineering was reviewedincluding types and characteristics of the foundation pit supporting structure. With aspecific project as an example, the selection of pit supporting scheme was introduced.The method of combinatorial design with pile-anchor retaining and compositesoil-nailed wall technique during the selection of pit supporting scheme was proposed.The rationality of the supporting structure design was discussed with software designand checking calculation. According to the characteristics of the combinatorial designof the supporting structure, the foundation pit construction control measures wereproposed. The technological process and the construction methods for the pile-anchorretaining and composite soil-nailed wall technique were given. The control during thecomposite supporting structure construction was emphasized. From the studies above,it was concluded that the combinatorial design of the supporting structure provides aneffective approach in the design and construction for the design and construction ofcomplex foundation pit.
