As an important port city of modern China, Qingdao was successively colonizedby Germany and Japan, the urban landscape and architectural features are under theinfluence of the western architectural culture. The guildhall is the important place ofparty to the around countrymen in Qingdao port, which architectural form and style istypical and representative.This paper is researching about the modern existing four hallsin Qingdao,through the field survey and mapping, also combined with the historicaldocuments and archives to make more in-depth analysis and research about thehistorical evolution of Qingdao guild buildings, the community planning of four guildbuildings and the design features of single architectural and so on. On the basis of thetheoretical research, the paper takes Sanjiang Gulidhall and Guangdong Gulidhall as anexample to put forward the design scheme of protection and renovation, and hope forproviding theoretical support and advice to the block transformation and updated ofZhongshan historical road in the future.
