The Research Of Roof Garden Design Method In Modern Cities

Cities nowadays developed more and more quickly, enormous modern buildingsconstructed in city area with this development, it leads a fact that buildings occupied abig part of city area, people could not see some green scenes in city center even treesand other plants. This is not beneficial to the economic and environment grow of thecity, and even not good for citizen’s health. Roof Greening can make city spaces moreefficient and provide citizens a better environment by creating the fifth section ofbuildings without occupied other function space as a way of greening, it is becoming apopular method in designer circle of the world in different occupations like architecturedesign and urban planning etc. At the time, roof garden design was booming from lotsparts of the world. More and more fabulous cases was constructed.Most scholars did the research from the view of construction, barely from theneeds of citizens. People is an important part of a society, satisfied what they wantshould be the first thing before we starting the roof garden design. This thesis waswritten based on people’s environment behavior needs and field researches atGuangdong Area and Hong Kong Area, we can get some methods of roof garden designthrough the analysis of those field researches.Principal results are as follows.1) According to the research of related concept, we summed up that the presentstatus of development and also problems about roof garden design in our country.2) I’ve summed up different types of roof garden based on researches of roofgarden, also analyze the relations between these two from the view of city’s benefit andbuildings etc.3) According to the field research of Guangdong area and Hong Kong area,analyze the spatial character from people’s environment behavior needs. Support the design discipline and method.4) Proposed the exploring of the method from city life of roof garden design, andapply it to Renxin World Centre Ginza roof garden design practice cases.
