Development and construction of tourist comprehensive services is dependentnot only on the natural resources of the scenic area, but also on the premise ofprotection of the scenic area; through moderate use and development of constructionland and service and facility area necessary for further endeavors. Shaanxi province’sscenery tourism has made swift and significant development in recent years. Many ofthe scenic destinations such as the Terracotta Warriors, Huaqing Hot Springs, MountTaibai, as well as various other scenic areas of commercial entertainment, healthleisure, hotel accommodation and tourism have all significantly improved theircomprehensive service quality. However, at the same time, our country is facingmajor issues directly related to tourism development in general. These problemsinclude such things as damage to the natural environment in tourism areas andreckless, excessive urban development that has resulted in a massive waste of landand money.The current tourism industry is result of the rapid economic growth of modernChina. In the city, the characteristics of the commercial business center’s“one-stopshop" model and the function of tourism services have become combined. Therefore,the scenic, relaxation, and service areas as they carry on have created a new idea of“vacationing for service”. This has led to the creation of a new type of high-end tourism areas providing quality leisure areas, art culture, entertainment, and dining.When one takes a cursory look and analyzes this swift development and change in thereal estate industry, it is clear that makes can very easily occur during the urbanizationprocess.In this paper, from the perspective of landscape planning and design, combinedwith first-hand field research gained through practical experience in various projectsin Shaanxi province as well as utilizing research gained from investigating currentsituations in tourism areas, attempts to analyze these existing issues. Going along withthe existing problems, there is also the matter of maintaining ecological security andpreservation. Through rational planning and landscape design, it’s possible to notonly protect the environment but also improve these services as a whole. It also dealswith the existing tourism service area, and how to improve and change the process sothat, it too, can development can be more ecological.
