The concrete bridge decks and steel main beams of steel-concrete compositebeam bridge are connected through the shear studs. Currently the main use of shearstuds is uniform distribution with relatively uniform characteristics, but uniformdistribution also leads to construction inconvenience. The shear studs of HongKong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge steel-concrete composite continuous box girder usenovel cluster distribution which can prefabricate and overall lift bridge deck, withfeatures of construction speed and good quality of the installation. However, theinfluence of cluster distribution of the shear studs on the overall force performance ofsteel-concrete composite and the mechanical properties of shear studs becomes aproblem of great concern to bridge designers. Accordingly, to research mechanicalperformance of steel-concrete composite girder bridge under cluster distribution anduniform distribution of shear studs is important to master design methods andoperating performance of steel-concrete composite girder bridge.This paper carries out mechanical performance analysis against the6×85mcomposite continuous beam bridge of the Hongkong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge. Life anddeath element method is used to simulate the actual construction process of theHongkong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, that is large segment integral lifting, convertingsimply-support in continuous, fulcrum lifting-up and fallbacking, fulcrumlongitudinal prestressed tension and secondary dead load. The mechanicalperformance of the steel-concrete composite beam bridge and the force status of shearstuds are calculated according to the two kinds of arrangement of cluster distributionand uniform distribution of shear studs, which provides basis of analysis for thecluster distribution of shear studs of steel-concrete composite beam bridge. The mainresearch contents and results are as follows:(1) The most unfavorable85m side span of shear studs is used as the refinedsub-models of cluster distribution and uniform distribution of shear studs, and thedisplacement on the incision boundary of the full-bride model is used as the boundarycondition of the refined models. BEAM188beam element is used to simulate shearstuds, and the section, elastic modulus and Poisson ratio and so on are input toANSYS program avoiding the instability of the stiffness of spring element, to accurately calculate the longitudinal shear, transverse shear and pulling force.(2)Under the dead load of bridge stage and live load, the deflection of the beam,the stress of concrete bridge deck and birder is basically the same. Comparison theforce of shear studs under dead load, live load, contraction, heating and cooling effect,results show that the force under uniform distribution of shear studs is more evenlythat the force under cluster distribution of shear studs, but the maximum is basicallythe same.(3)By the strength checking of the shear studs of the most unfavorable force,finds that shear studs of two kinds of distribution are in normal use carrying capacity.Compared to cast bridge construction, precast concrete bridge deck constructionmethods have great advantages in economics, constructability and schedule, so thecluster distribution of shear studs is worth promoting.
