With urbanization, city size and growing population, the increasingly severetraffic situation has become an important problems hindering the urban development.The urban rail transit construction and implementation can enable the transportcapacity and efficiency of public transport increased significantly, mainly in speed,high accessibility, transportation of a large base etc. At present, in order to solveurban traffic problems, major cities in China continue to promote the implementationof urban rail construction and vigorously develop urban public transport. The form ofurban commercial development is also re-evolved along with the construction of railtransit.Since2004Wuhan Rail Transit on the1st line opened, Wuhan became the fifthmetro city after Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangzhou. Opening of Wuhan MetroLine2is the symbol that Wuhan Rail Transit Construction has entered a period ofcomprehensive development. According to Wuhan City Master Plan2020, the totallength of rail transit in Wuhan will reach300km, a total of12rail lines, covering theentire city. With the development of rail transit construction, Wuhan Subwaycommercial development issues have become increasingly prominent.Based on China’s rail transit construction wave background and combined withthe the development status of domestic and international metro commercial spacedevelopment model, this paper collates and analyses model forms and characteristicsof metro commercial space development. Taking Wuhan Rail Transit Line2subwaystation field as the study object, this paper makes a detailed analysis and statistics ofthe the scale of the subway station, format and layout of the forms of commercialexploitation of the region. It finds that the commercial development of the subwaystation field problems and proposes appropriate recommendations for improvement.
