"Mechatronics" is an interdisciplinary combined with the traditionalmechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science, active magneticbearing is a typical electromechanical system. The difference between the traditionalmechanical bearing is mainly in its sensing to change, and through the proper meansof information processing to make the corresponding response to the change.Industrial application of magnetic bearings depends on its safety and reliability,which has become the two key factors to infect their business development.This paper did some research on how to improve the reliability of magneticbearings.The main work as follows:First, this paper introduces the forms of active magnetic bearings’ faults themeasures to improve the reliability and situation at home and abroad of magneticbearings of redundant fault-tolerant developing. The working principle of the activemagnetic bearings and the calculation formula of electromagnetic force areintroduced. According to the electronic components reliability the reliability ofnormal system and redundant magnetic bearings system are analysed.Secondly, the application of current deviation linearization method in12polestrong coupling and were given, according to this method the current distributionmatrix was solved when the12poles are normal or in failure model. On12pole weakcoupling structure radial magnetic bearing a new current distribution algorithm wasproposed named force balance method. The magnetic field simulation was done fordifferent structure under different methods by using ANSYS and calculatedelectromagnetic force of three different current distribution methods. From there sidesincluding control theory, simulation of magnetic field and current distribution matrixmade a comparison. The comparison results was weak coupling structure magneticbearing of the force balance method in has advantages in redundant fault-tolerantcompared with strong coupling structure magnetic bearingThen, in MATLAB/SIMULINK established simulation model of12pole strong coupling structure deviation linearization principle and12poles weak couplingstructure force balance principle and the two methods are simulated. Simulation stepsincluding normal floating and trouble-free to and refactor under disturbances, thesimulation results show that two kinds of control theory can be used for magneticbearings redundant fault-tolerant, the method of force balance compared with currentdeviation linearization method has more advantages.Finally, the relative experiments are taken out on a single degree of freedomactive magnetic bearing text rig. By using force balance principle current distributionmatrix of this structure is deduced. The experiment mainly includes suspending andfailure to reconstruct. The experiment results showed that the force balance methodare feasible in coil failure reconstruction.
