The smooth growth of the national economy, innovation of science andtechnology and gradually sound laws and regulations promote the rapid developmentof modern automobile industry. In order to meet the higher and higher requirementson the comprehensive performance of the car, using electronic control technology inmodern automobile industry is the inevitable trend of development. However, theincreasing electronic level makes the automotive electronic structure more and morecomplex and increases the difficulties in detecting performance and diagnosing faults. The traditional methods of detection and diagnosis can’t diagnose the faults ofautomotive electronic control system rapidly and correctly. So it is difficult to adaptto the rapid development of modern automobile industry. In order to improve the fault diagnosis technology of automobile electroniccontrol system, break the technological monopoly of foreign auto enterprises andimprove the reusability of traditional vehicle fault diagnostic data, this paper studiesand develops the vehicle fault diagnostic integrated platform based on the opendiagnostic data exchange model defined by an international organization. Theplatform realizes the diagnostic database sharing in the vehicle life cycle. The mainwork of this paper can be summarized as follows:(1)On the basis of the detailed analysis of electronic control modules’ diagnosticcommunication protocols through the whole platform, the paper studies and designsthe unified standard diagnostic database which is applicable to all the vehicles, thenrealizes the correct and efficient conversion between the protocols and diagnosticdatabase.(2) In order to ensure the quality and efficiency of vehicle performance test andmeet the requirements of the actual detection lines, the automatic detection system forthe comprehensive performance of end-of-line vehicles is developed and itaccelerates the vehicle performance test.(3) In order to meet the actual demands of after-sale service system, referring toopen system interconnection model, adopting the idea of multiple layers and makingfull use of the shared diagnostic database to develop the fault diagnosis and refresh system for the after-sale services.(4)In order to update shared diagnostic database in real-time, and maintain thedetection standard of end-of-line vehicles, the management system for the integratedplatform is developed. The management system can search and analyze the results ofthe end-of-line detection, the records of after-sale diagnosis and reprogramming andprovide vehicle information to the relevant departments in real-time.(5) The vehicle fault diagnostic integrated platform is mounted to the relevantdepartments to conduct the systematic tests, including the stability of hardware, thereliability of detection results and the accuracy of fault diagnosis. The test resultsshow that the platform can run normally, meet the previous objectives and have actualapplication values.
