With the rapid development of economy, a large number of inductive loads andimpact loads were connected into electricity grid on industrial site, so industrialenvironment become more and more complex. These loads consume too muchreactive power which lowering the power factor, leading to grid voltage fluctuations.As a result, it has brought a huge challenge to the grid on safety. At the same time, thechange of load make traditional compensation method cannot meet the demands ofmodern industrial environment. Therefore, it makes a great sense to develop a newreactive compensation device which can compensate reactive power flexibly anddynamically.The thesis is finished with the support of2013Hubei Technology project “keytechnology research of quickly dynamic reactive power compensation under complexelectric power load”. The details of thesis are presented as follows.Firstly, the overall planning of dynamic reactive power compensation wasfinished. After analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of traditional SVC device,a topology of dynamic reactive power compensation device based on variable reactorwas constructed. And main circuit, operating circuit and control system circuit weredesigned according to the topology of dynamic reactive power compensation device.Secondly, the hardware circuit is designed. The hardware circuit is designedusing S7-200PLC as its controller, and it included I/O circuit, PLC communicationcircuit, parameter collection circuit, pulse trigger circuit, power circuit and powersystem circuit.Finally, the software design was completed. The software was designed onSTEP7-MircoWIN programming platform. At the same time, monitoring anddisplaying interface was designed by configuration software MCGS, making there isa good human-machine interaction interface.This thesis focuses on design of a real-time dynamic reactive powercompensation device. The device can analyze and compute the reactive power ullageof grid, and control the emitting of reactive power. Then it can compensate reactivepower locally, and improve the grid power factor, stabilize voltage of power grid.
