With the rapid development of the global industry,the buffer, as a safetyprotection device,has been widely used in the hoisting equipments. It can reduce theoccurrence of accidents and ensure the safety in production. However, with highintensity mechanical impact on the buffer for long periods, it may cause the bufferaged and worn more easily, and the buffer may become unusual reset after being hit,which seriously affects its buffering capacity. The manual detection of its resetcondition is cumbersome and inefficient. Therefore, to explore and develop aautomatic detection monitoring system to take the place of manual detection is ofpractical significance.In this paper, I started with the testing requirements of reset distance of thecrane buffer, designing a buffer detection system based on ZigBee wireless networktechnology. Specifically, first, through the analysis and the comparison of the currentstudy on the fault detecting method of the crane buffer, selecting the reset distanceof the buffer as testing target, and chose HC-SR04ultrasonic distance sensor module+DS18B20temperature sensor module to precisely measure the reset distance afterthe buffer worked in real-time. Then further analyzed the basic principles of wirelesssensor network technology, and by comparing several popular wireless technology,selected the low cost, low power-consuming and high transmission quality ofZigBee wireless technology as my plan. In the plan, I chose CC2530chip from TIcompany as the hardware solution to the ZigBee wireless communication module,Then, I detailedly analyzed the design of application circuit of wirelesscommunication module CC2530and the interface circuit between wirelesscommunication module and host computer and the microcontroller. And detailedintroduced the system structure and workflow of ZigBee protocol stack. Finally,transmitted the distance data measured by the sensor to the host computer throughthe network.Eventually, I summarized the full easy, pointed out the problems of the system,and prospected future research work.
