A variety of electrical and electronic products is developing rapidly in recent tenyears; these products are mostly non-linear and supplied by single-phase power.When these non-linear loads are more and more, the power factor will reduce and theproblem of load imbalance will getting worse, and then the entire power grid willcause great harm. In this paper, we do research three-level static var generator (StaticVar Generator, SVG) with unbalanced load is aimed at addressing the issue ofcompensation reactive power in three-level system, and then ensure the safety andstable operation of the system.This paper analyzes the generation of reactive power as well as harm, on thisbasis, we introduced the development of reactive power compensation device, leadingthe research content of this subject, followed the principle of SVG. After the analysisof various main circuit structures, we select the diode clamped three-level structure asthe subject of the main circuit structure. In order to detect the reactive current fast andaccurately, we choose the ip-iq detection method, which based on instantaneousreactive power, as our detection method. We also studied various control methods,and finally took the space vector modulation method, and joined the midpointpotential balance control. Through these aspects, we achieved a real-time dynamiccompensation of reactive power. After doing theoretical analysis and proposed controlstrategy, the paper developed by Saber software to build a simulation modelsimulation study, the simulation model parameters are set with reference to the designvalue, the final results in line with initial expectations, indicating that the subjectdesigned SVG has a good dynamic real-time compensation performance. Finally, wedesigned software and hardware system based on TI’s DSP control chipTMS320F28335and Infineon’s three-level IGBT F3L100R07W2E3_B11.
