Matrix converter(MC) is a kind of novel power converter with simple topologyand a series of ideal characteristics, however, the engineering application of MC isconstrained in industry by the drawback of MC with low voltage transfer ratio.According to the investigation on MC nowadays, the effect is not fine by adoptingdifferent control strategies to increase the voltage transfer ratio.For example,the totalharmonic distortion(THD) of output voltage is too large. So a kind of novel powerconverter topology named Buck-Boost Matrix converter with high voltage transferratio are proposed. The investigation results show that the modulation of outputvoltage and frequency can be realized optionally, and a normal sine wave can bedirectly obtained without filtering. According to ideal characteristics, BBMC issuitable for asynchronous motor speed control areas, so this paper will focus on theresearch of applying BBMC to control strategy research of asynchronous motor speedcontrol system. The main works may include:1. The overview of the development situation of asynchronous motor speedcontrol technology and power converter are elaborated, and the research status ofincreasing voltage transfer ratio of MC is introduced, and basic features of BBMC isdescribed, and using BBMC as power converter of asynchronous motor speed controlis proposed.2. The basic principle of BBMC is introduced, and the corresponding controlstrategy is studied according to its main circuit structure is divided into two parts ofrectifier and inverter which can be controlled independently.3. the dynamic mathematical model of asynchronous motor is analyzed, andcoordinate transformation and the basic principle of rotor field oriented vector-basedcontrol system are elaborated4. The principle of asynchronous motor high-performance control system basedon BBMC is researched, namely the corresponding input voltage of asynchronousmotor is obtained according to a given speed based on the principle of vector control,which is regarded as the reference input voltage of BBMC, and then actual outputvoltage and the reference input voltage can be reconciled through the double-loopcontrol strategy, so, the actual speed of asynchronous motor can achieve accuratetracking of the given speed, which reaches for purpose of asynchronous motor speedcontrol. And a system simulation model using Matlab is built. 5. The asynchronous motor high-performance control system experimental deviceof using DSP as system controller and using MOSFET as power switches is developed,which is debugged using the corresponding developed software, the experiment resultsare agreed to the simulation conclusion, which further verifies correctness ofasynchronous motor high-performance control strategy based on BBMC.
